Department of Maithili
Department of Maithili of the C. M. College, Darbhanga started in 1945 with objective to contribute in the progress and development of Maithili language and literature. In the beginning, Shri Jai Deo Mishra was appointed as the faculty of Maithili department. The department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses to the students. The department believes that imparting education in the Maithili Language and Literature the students of Mithilanchal region is its main objective. Therefore, it strives to provide quality education. The contribution of the faculties appointed in the past has been a source of inspiration for the Maithili department in other universities in Bihar.
