Department of History
The department of History is one of the oldest departments of the college. The department offers undergraduate degree (3/4 years programme) under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and 2 year Postgraduate programme for the students. The department imparts knowledge on the subject through vast sources of history and modern pedagogy used as per norms. The department organises seminars, workshops and conferences on various aspects of history. Students of the department is encouraged to participate different extra-curricular and other activities. The teaching-learning process of the department also aims to equip the students of the subject to be able to pass competitive exams. The department also encourages students for research related activities through encouraging them to prepare for UGC NET examinations that enables students for higher studies in the subject. The alumina of this department includes Shri Karpoori Thakur, former Chief Minister of Bihar and Shri Lalit Narayan Mishra, former Minister of Railways, Government of India.
